Introduction
Dayananda Sagar Institutions have a legacy of delivering quality education in India for few decades. Having established as a leading Technical Institute, DSI is looking forward to establish itself as a notable centre in India as far research and knowledge generation is concerned. Research is an inevitable arm of modern educational system and the only channel which enables knowledge generation. An Institution driven by knowledge necessarily need to have strong research positioning in order to identify itself in International arena. Dr. T.R.Gopalakrishnan Nair, as the Director of Research & Industry Incubation Centre (RIIC), Dayananda Sagar Institutions, is engaged in various research fields viz., Nanotechnology, Software Engineering, Advanced Computer Networking, Processor Architecture, Real Time Systems and other frontier domains.
Director’s Message
The humanity is undergoing a rapid transformation in the domain of culture, technology and business to arrive at a best fit system for the 21st century conditions. It produces exceedingly complex challenges in the domain of energy, health, environment, food security and self-balancing socio-economic-business systems for sustaining the human life with equal opportunity on this small globe, the earth. There are incredible challenges spread across these domains of the knowledge, which need to be met through scientific pursuit and technological revolution. The fields of Nanotechnology, Biotechnology, Information technology, Energy management etc. have to go a long way to achieve the goals of humanity. I am sure the Research and Industry Centre with its dedicated professionals, who are in pursuit of some of these goals, will make excellent contributions in the field of Science and Technology.

Mission
The Centre envisages establishing and supporting strong research groups in multiple domains through different departments and Centralized facility. It will be instituted as a part of the system and will commit itself to high level of dedication in realizing the results suitable to the society and Industry with proper values of ethics, long range vision and economic viability.
Strategy
The research centre intends to integrate the work done in each department in to a common institutional asset giving due advantage to all involved. It will position itself as a facilitator of good research efforts from all corners by organizing the opportunities for funds, identifying the Industry orientations and collaboration with other universities in India and abroad.
Structure
The Research activities will be facilitated all throughout the institution with the support of the RIIC. The Director of research will be responsible for formulating the strategies for research orientation and produce the governing regulations of carrying out research in DSI. Currently the structure of the RIIC has two wings such as Incubation Centre and Research wing.
