Director Profile

T.R.Gopalakrishnan Nair

Dr.T.R.Gopalakrishnan Nair has 29 years of experience in professional field spread over industry, research and education. He holds the degree M.Tech. ( I.I.Sc., Bangalore) and Ph.D. in Computer Science. He is currently the director of Research and Development Centre , DS Institutions in Bangalore, India and organizes the Research and Industry activities. He started his career in Electronic Research and Development Centre, Trivandrum where he was instrumental in developing various pioneering systems ranging from color graphics systems, communication systems to desktop computer systems. Later, he worked in Indian Space Research Organization where his areas of research were Inertial Navigation and Guidance systems, Launch vehicle Technology, High speed computing and Launch vehicle simulations. In 1992, He was given the National technology award Dr. T.R.Gopalakrishnan NairPARAM for developing the parallel computing flight simulation systems for Indian launch vehicles. He participated in the International Space University, Space Project Design Program in Toronto in 1990. Having worked in the current Electronics and Information Technology industry for decades, he studied industry process very closely and remained as a consultant to many industries. As the director of research and industry in DS Institutions Bangalore, he develops the strategies and directions in research where, Software Engineering, Nanotechnology, AI & Robotics are some of the thrust areas. He has several papers published in these multidisciplinary fields.

He is a senior member of IEEE for last two decades and a member of various other societies. He is usually invited by various universities at national and international level as well as professional societies for delivering lectures on frontier areas. He is a member of the director board of few companies operating in India. His articles on current thoughts and lectures on education, technology and business are published by leading Indian publications. He has acted as the chair of many international conferences including the ‘Euro-India Research conference –2008’ held in Bangalore.
