The educational experience
Being affiliated to Bangalore University, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, and the Visvesvaraya Technological University, DSI colleges adhere to the respective syllabi. Development is beyond the prescribed curriculum helping students acquire experiential knowledge. Students are encouraged to take on project work to enhance hands-on experience. Regular interaction with experts in various institutes and research centres expand the frontiers of knowledge of the students. Further, visits are arranged to various organisations as part of the curriculum. Student seminars and workshops contribute to enhance the effectiveness of experiential learning.

The blossoming of the DSI Campus
What started as a Pre University College and grew to under-graduate programs saw several additions over a period of time, developing it into a fully integrated campus. DSI’s engineering program is now into its silver jubilee; dental surgery and pharmacy are getting ready to offer post graduate programs. The centre for biological and pharmaceutical research is the latest jewel in the campus.

Health Care Education has been receiving strong emphasis at the DSI campus. The diploma and graduate programs in Nursing provide quality education in this area of study. The department has a well-equipped laboratory, modern infrastructure, and instruments. Well supplemented by a team of professionally qualified faculty guide students to give their best. A full-fledged Allied Health Sciences College offers some of the critical programs, including a bachelor’s course in Physiotherapy, now in great demand and with more additions happening in the coming months

Medicine
Completing the one-stop offer for all professional programs within the same campus is the Medical College that is set to take off. The Government of Karnataka has given its consent. A 500-bed hospital is under construction and will be attached to the medical college within the DSI campus. A formal announcement will be made soon.

DSI is associated with one of India’s leading hospital chains- the Sagar Apollo Hospital. Students from many of our programs like Nursing, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Biological Sciences and Medical Electronics have good access to the various specialities in this high tech hospital. The hands on experience, interaction with the highly qualified and experienced medical and support professionals and staff by the DSI students has generally no parallel. Strong reasons for students from DSI Colleges going through an easy transformation into a professional at the end of University education.

Hostels, Food Courts and Messes
Separate hostels are provided for boys and girls situated within the campus. This consists of neat rooms and dormitories, good toilet facilities and all the comfort that students seek to live in a hygienic atmosphere. A well-equipped library containing the latest textbooks and journals, both Indian and international is situated within the campus. The central library of the campus has additional facilities such as photocopying machines and computers with Internet facilities. The Library Annexe now getting ready will be one of the best in the State presenting a new ambience for students to spend hours and hours reading and taking notes from the best books that any good library could have on the choicest of subjects.

Conveno: A one-stop shop aesthetically designed and centrally located inside the campus offers great convenience to students with well-stocked books, stationery, uniforms and memorabilia.

A Clinic, Hospital and the Insurance Cover
A clinic manned by a doctor, nurse and support staff and also a full-fledged dental hospital inside the campus caters to immediate needs of students and staff. For emergencies and major requirements, the Sagar Apollo Hospital offers all the support.

Further all students are covered for any unforeseen events that may lead to loss of support from home to continue studies or if the student may need hospitalisation. Such eventualities are administered and timely assistance given through arrangement with an insurance company up to specified limits.

Transport
College buses are available to students commuting between colleges and campuses. The college provides transportation for the students to visit camps organized outside the campus.
